The Internet and Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) represent nowadays fundamental tools for promoting the access to support and information in cases of violence or crime.

Given the emergence of this reality, the Portuguese Association for Victim Support (APAV) developed the T@LK Handbook – Online Support for Victims of Crime.  This Handbook is a working tool for victim support organisations and victim support services. Gathering the findings from research focused on the use of the Internet and ICTs to support and intervene with victims of crime and considering the knowledge derived from field practice of victim support organisations and victim support services providing support via the Internet, the T@LK Handbook aims to assist victim support organisations and victim support services in the development and/or implementation of online support services for victims of crime.

This Handbook was developed under Project T@LK – online support for victims of crime, promoted by the Portuguese Association for Victim Support (APAV) and co-financed by the Justice Programme of the European Union. This project had the partnership of Victim Support Malta, Human Rights Monitoring Institute, Victim Support Finland, Catalan Society of Victimology and Victim Support Europe.
