Objetivo central e principais atividades:
O projeto HEROES, financiado pela UE, explorará como usar os mais recentes avanços tecnológicos e novas estratégias para prevenir e combater o abuso sexual de menores (CSA/CSE) e o tráfico de seres humanos, como investigar melhor esses crimes e proteger as vítimas. Desenvolverá uma abordagem interdisciplinar centrada na vítima. O objetivo do Projeto é desenvolver novas e melhores ferramentas de investigação para este tipo de criminalidade e de apoio às vítimas.
Para atingir seu objetivo principal, o projeto HEROES desenvolverá as suas ferramentas tecnológicas e estratégias de prevenção, centrando-se em três pilares fundamentais para combater os crimes de TSH e CSA/CSE: Prevenção, Investigação e Apoio à Vítima.
Parcerias:
O consórcio HEROES consiste em 27 parceiros 11 localizados em países Europeus (Áustria, Bélgica, Bulgária, França, Grécia, Irlanda, Letónia, Lituânia, Portugal, Espanha, Reino Unido), Suíça, 5 países fora do continente Europeu (Bangladesh, Brasil, Colômbia, Peru, Uruguai). O consórcio é composto por diferentes entidades: 5 Universidades (UCM, UNIKENT, VUB, UNICAMP, Lab LATITUDE), 2 pequenas e médias empresas (IDENER RD, TRI), 3 empresas tecnológicas (INRIA, KEMEA, ARC), 7 órgãos policiais (ESMIR, ELAS, SPL, GDCOC, BFPD, PRF, CCFFAA), 1 Organização Internacional (ICMPD), 8 organizações não-governamentais (CWCS, KOPZI, APAV, RENACER, GCR, ESPHERA, ASBRAD, ICMEC CH), e uma organização governamental (GOSIEE).

Objectives and main activities:
The number of people, including children, falling victim to human trafficking and child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSA/CSE) around the world continues to grow, despite increased international attention and resources. In Europe, sexually exploited women and girls make up the majority of human trafficking victims. Moreover, assistance to victims is often limited by the lack of coordination among stakeholders. In this context, the EU-funded HEROES project will explore how to use the latest technological advances and new strategies to prevent and combat CSA/CSE and human trafficking, how to better investigate those crimes and protect victims. It will develop an ambitious, interdisciplinary, international and victim-centred approach. Its aim is to establish a coordinated contribution with law enforcement agencies to address the specific needs of victims and provide protection. To achieve its main goal, the HEROES project's strategies and solutions, focus on three fundamental pillars to fight against THB and CSA/CSE crimes: Prevention, Investigation and Victim Assistance.
