Support a children/youngster victim of crime
Support from family and friends is crucial for the children/youngster victim of crime.
However, it can be difficult to know how to help.

- stay calm while near the child/youngster; she/he will notice your reaction;
- show that you believe in her/him;
- show that you care and that will be there for her/him;
- avoid rushing her/him while sharing your comments and thoughts, give her/him time and listen carefully;
- accept that the child/youngster is acting in way different than usual
- remind the child/youngster that it’s not her/his fault
- remind the child/youngster why you love her/him
- explore the consequences of each choice and make decisions together
- ask for support in the recommended institutions; they have experience in helping people in these situations.
